Lidar

Drone LiDAR data gathering involves using airborne laser scanning technology to capture precise three-dimensional information about the Earth's surface and structures. Equipped with LiDAR sensors, drones emit rapid laser pulses toward the ground, measuring the time it takes for the light to bounce back. This data is then processed to produce detailed digital elevation models, 3D point clouds, and high-resolution maps. The applications are diverse, ranging from topographical surveys and vegetation analysis to infrastructure inspections and construction monitoring, allowing for enhanced accuracy and efficiency in data collection.

Photogrammetry

.Photogrammetry mapping is a technique that uses photography to gather accurate measurements and create detailed 3D models of physical spaces or objects. By taking overlapping images from multiple angles, photogrammetry software processes these images to generate precise geographic data, topographical maps, and visual representations. This method is widely used in various industries, including construction, real estate, and environmental monitoring, due to its ability to provide high-resolution imagery and valuable spatial information efficiently.

Construction Progress

Construction progression drone photo site visits provide an efficient way to monitor and document the development of construction projects from start to finish. Utilizing aerial imagery, these visits capture detailed, high-resolution photos that showcase the various stages of construction, enabling stakeholders to visualize progress over time. This service is invaluable for project managers, contractors, and investors as it enhances communication, offers insights into potential issues, and helps ensure timelines and budgets are adhered to. Regular aerial assessments facilitate timely decision-making and provide an essential record of the project's evolution.

Data Processing

Drone data processing for photogrammetry and LiDAR involves several critical steps to convert raw aerial data into usable, detailed maps and models.

In photogrammetry, high-resolution images captured by drones are processed using specialized software to create 2D orthophotos and 3D models. This process includes image alignment, feature matching, and generating dense point clouds, which are then transformed into digital surface models (DSMs) or digital terrain models (DTMs).

For LiDAR data, laser pulse data collected during the flight is processed to filter and classify points, generating accurate elevation models and capturing complex terrain details. The raw point cloud data can apply noise reduction and filtering techniques to enhance clarity.

Once processed, both photogrammetry and LiDAR outputs can be exported into formats compatible with civil engineering software like Civil 3D and AutoCAD. This integration allows for the creation of precise line work, including contours, site boundaries, and infrastructure design elements, facilitating project planning and execution.
